THE GODS ARE RAPISTS is almost finished

Fans funded a special edition titled “The Age of Lead” but the retail version will be titled “The Gods are Rapists.”

Merchants and feeble-minded people treat the word “rape” like a racial slur. Including it in a title is a risk in the commercial entertainment world.

Bill Zebub does not make movies to entertain childish viewers. He makes movies for people who want something more. Of course, he cannot provide the lush scenery of big-budget movies, but he can take chances on story structure and content.

Plato considered Homeric stories to be immoral, so he sought to ban them. In his opinion, gods should be all-good.

Indeed, the stories of gods included them raping, killing, and other foul deeds. in Homer’s “Odyssey” the defeated soldiers were emasculated by having their sexual organs cut out.

Lofty works like Shakespeare’s play “Titus Andronicus” included a brutal rape scene in which the woman was mutilated afterward.

Why, in this age when we are supposedly more educated, do the masses want movies that don’t offer challenges?

Why watch stories in which humans are unrealistic? Didn’t the Victorian Era show us the danger of making people think they have to live up to an idea; an unrealistic idea?

No. Bill Zebub chooses to show people as they are.

In this movie, he shows the gods as they were first depicted.
